I’m the maker behind Made by Katelyn Ceramics.

I create small-batch, handmade pottery inspired by the natural world. I found pottery after grad school and was hooked from day one. I started my instagram @whatskatelynmaking to document my progress and have gotten a lot of wonderful support from the community studios I’ve been a part of.

I’m especially drawn to contrast: simple shapes with detailed surfaces, earthy tones with small moments of brightness, and everyday objects with subtle, sky-inspired elements.

Everything is made by hand, which means each piece comes out a little different. That variation is part of what I love most about working with clay.

You’ll usually find me making, testing ideas, and bringing new work to local markets. This space is a collection of those pieces and the process behind them.
